New Blog Coming

This week I am going to start saving to my computer and sharing through a new blog, the older pictures that I am fortunate to have. Some of the pictures are without names and dates but hopefully someone else out there can fill in the blanks. If you have any that you want to share, please send them to me attached to an email. I will just post them as I find them and they will be related to the Barycki / Bardsley family trees. You will be able to save them to your computer if you want. I think it is important for these pictures to be shared with future generations. And I think it will be fun.

Three Generations

Mom, Emil Jr, Kenny

Mom, Paul and Kenny (aprox 1966) not Mom, Emil and Mike

Shannon (2006)
Ken's daughter

Nathan (2006)
Emil's grandson

It's amazing, through the 3 generations, how families look alike. When my Mother-in-law gave me this picture, she thought it was my husband Emil and Mike. The oldest boy in the picture had such close resemblances (hair line blonding, ears, build, etc) with our Grandson, Nathan, that I didn't question it. But still I could see the bigger difference in age between the boys, and Mom didn't look to be in her 20's. I guess this is why we should label our pictures...lol

Happy Birthday Diane

How lucky I am to have such a great sister-in-law, wish we could spend more time together
Hope you have a wonderful day!

Easter Past

Trying to create Easter memories for the kids was always a challenge for me. Growing up, my Easters were full of family and all things bunny. I looked high and low for a Rabbit in Burley, Idaho for my kids to visit with zero results. So that year I became "The Easter Bunny". Back then I was a bookkeeper working for Kmart and I told my store manager if he could find a costume, (had to rent it from Salt Lake City) I would be the store's bunny.

A little VACAY

Nell and I spent 3 fun filled days in the Wildwoods and at Cape May. After her knee surgery, (both knees) Nell needed some good physical therapy. And what's better than shopping and eating out!!! The weather was cold and gloomy but we managed to spread sunshine everywhere we went. ;)

Easter = Home made pierogis

Sacred Heart Parish, in my home town of Clifton Heights, makes and sells pierogis for Easter and Christmas. They are unbelievably delicious. And I am so fortunate to have worked with these wonderful people and learned to make this Polish tradition from them.

Making Memories

Easter
It's message... hope
It's meaning... life
It's reason... love

Headed home for the Easter holiday today with my grandson Nathan and his Mom and Dad. It's always fun to get together with family and celebrate back East. I can't even imagine what the trips will be like with 5 more grandchildren on future trips.

Some of my favorite Easter memories:

  • Going to church (JR Miller Presbyterian) with Mom Powell
  • Visiting the Easter bunny at down town Strawbridges & Clothier
  • My 3 Easter baskets (same 3 every year)
  • Dying Eggs
  • Cobbs Creek Park coming back to life after a cold winter
  • Easter dinner at Mom Bardsleys with all my cousins and my hollow chocolate bunny from her
  • My first pair of stockings for church in 7th grade from Mom Powell (they were pink)
  • My duck Donald
  • And my too many to count rabbits
  • New shoes and 2 beautiful Spring dresses, one for Easter and one for Psalm Sunday
  • And my all time favorite....PEEPS!!! Going to 5 & 10 and buying clearance peeps after Easter, the older and chewier the better

Happy Birthday Queen Radojka

Just can't help feeling lucky
That someone as nice as you
Has a place within our family
And fits so nicely too.
Happy Birthday to our daughter-in-law

Tender Pork Roast

Recently Jaime and I have been having fun trying new crock pot recipes and I came across this one to try mostly because I had the ingredients handy, tender pork roast. So just for the fun of it I sent in a picture and they used it. My first published picture. lol
I used a preseasoned (onion, garlic) 3 lb pork tenderloin from Costco. Allrecipes.com is a great website to explore for new ideas.

Loved by the whole family, even my "picky eater" 7 year old grandson. I followed the direction amounts and replaced the soy sauce with lite soy sauce and the sugar with Equal.

A new U S Citizen

Today, after a very long process, my daughter in law (from Venezuela), Radojka became a citizen of the United States. Words can't express how very proud I am of her.
There were 680 applicants from 48 different countrys.

"Leaping" into Spring

"Doubtless God could have made a better berry, but doubtless God never did."

Our local strawberrys are the sweetest I have ever eaten, there are small family owned plots scattered around town and I can't wait for our first strawberrry shortcake.
