California wildfire overall statistics as of today:
_ Acreage: More than 458,000 (more than 700 square miles).
_ Homes destroyed: More than 1,400, according to individual county reports.
_Deaths: One fire death, five fire-related deaths.
_ Injuries: 26 civilians, 40 firefighters.
The Santa Clarita, Stevenson's Ranch fires are the closest to us. About 150 miles and a 2 hour trip South. About 30 minutes above Los Angelos. They are located along rt 5, on the other side of the "grape vine". This is a trip taken many times when we're headed to LAX or Disney and beyond.
Still hundreds of thousands in Southern California are wondering tonight if they will still have their homes once the wildfires are done burning. A state of emergency has been declared in seven counties.
Please remember these families and the fire fighters in your prayers.
