Thundersnow also known as a winter thunderstorm or a thunder snowstorm is a rare thunderstorm with snow falling as the primary precipitation instead of rain. It commonly falls in regions of strong upward motion within the cold sector of extratropical cyclones between autumn and spring when surface temperatures are most likely to be near or below freezing.

Hunters & Hunted
We spent the afternoon shopping at Cabellas

Of the WI hunters hitting the woods on opening day, 595,926 (94 percent) were residents and 35,297 were nonresidents. When 203,571 bow deer license sales are added to deer gun totals, deer hunting participation is at 835,000, a slight increase over 2007. In conditions that varied from sub-zero to chilly and overcast on opening morning, hunters participating in the traditional November 9-day gun deer hunt registered a preliminary tally of 133,828 deer over the first two days of the hunt a 22 percent decrease from 2007

Thanksgiving 2008
One of the best ways to describe our new little town of Fox Lake (population 1454 plus 2) , would be "The Christmas Story". It's a small town with the same style homes and lots of different and wonderful families. We celebrated Thanksgiving with our next door neighbor and her family. Five families, dogs, cats and kids. It was grande and so much good food, wine and conversation. At least when you can't be with family, it's so nice that you have such good friends to share with.

New friends, New places
Had a wonderful day trip to Madison with my new neighbor, Donna. After exploring the capital area and visiting some fun specialty shops around the square, we met up with her sister and had a fabulous Italian meal at Tutto Pasta Trattoria.
